There is a new law that is being debated in Michigan that will allow you to opt out of wearing a helmet. AAA is out against it and cites statistics that indicate huge increases in costs and fatalities associated with repealing helmet laws.

Evidently, there is a helmet law in Manilla but the local cops don't seem to follow it. The Department of Health in the Philippines argues that cops need to follow the law too and set a good example.
Max Tapongot, chief of the Road Safety Unit under the agency's Traffic Operations Center said, "You reduce fatal accident by 50 percent if bikers use the standard head gears."
